Lift off

After all pre-flight checks have been completed and everyone is on-board, the pilot will use the burners to heat the air inside the envelope to the point where it can lift the weight of the balloon itself and the combined weight of all the passengers (now you know why we need to know your weight). Beyond that point, the pilot will then continue the process to achieve a gradual lift from the ground and then you’re flying.......
